Default OS upgrade

Please Login to Remove!

I own a verizon 8703e, I have my own email accounts and access my company BES. My device is not issued by my company. I was wondering if I would do any damage to the BES connection by updating the OS?

Thanks

You will lose the connection during the upgrade. However, if you are connected to your company VPN or LAN during the upgrade and Desktop Manager is setup to pick up the email connection "connected" and "online" at the bottom, then after the upgrade the Enterprise Activation will start automatically. Just leave it plugged in for a few minutes after the upgrade is complete with the wireless on and it should go.

Do you have access to your email from your computer? If so make sure your Desktop Manager picks up that email profile and says "Online" at the bottom. If you can do that then your connection will reestablish (Enterprise Activation will take place) after the update. If you can't the Activation will not take place and you will lose your connection. You can also call the BES admin in your company and have them give you a password to activate directly from your BB (provided their BES is, 4.0 (I think) or better. It's an easy procedure either way. Just give them a call and let them know what you are doing beforehand and I'm sure they'll help you out.
