Default blackberry pearl as gps

Please Login to Remove!

Hi can anyone provide a brief summary or direct me to a thread which can instruct me

I want to begin using pearl as a GPS

1) I am under the impression that I need to purchase an additional GPS bluetooth receiver -if this accurate and what type of receiver should I purchase
2) after purchase I need to download some software from telenav
3) At this point will my blackberry work as a full-feature GPS- where I can plug in start and destination and receive step by step instructions while seeing my position on a map and watching the streets and turns
4) should I use the built in blackberry maps for this ??
Thanx
Michael

You are correct. You need a gps receiver. There are several to choose from and the one I have is the holux gpslim 236b.I have no issues with it at all.Once you have a gps receiver and your gps program, you'll be good to go. Data service is a must of course.

Not sure if it's used outside of the US and I'm not able to search it for you at the moment. Telenav and bbmaps download maps, so there are none to store. Stinsonddog has a gps rundown that will give you all the info you need.good luck.
