Default Device Transfer

Please Login to Remove!

My GF has a BB 8703e (Sprint) and is interested in getting the 8830. If she uses the device transfer, will it also transfer over her service books and other configuration. She hasn't logged into her BB account page since activation, so she may not remember her password. She doesn't want to go through the troouble of getting it reset so she can be able to resend her service books. Is the device transfer app an easier option? Thanks.

The service books come from the network, not the Device Transfer wizard.
She'll need to log into her BIS account to change the handheld assigned to her account, so e-mail will begin to come to the new device instead of the old one.

She can just use the "Forgot password" link on the BIS page if she can't remember it.

Going from a 8703e to a 8830 also means you are changing carrier (CDMA -> GSM) anyway. You will have no choice to to this carrier's BIS page and setup a new email account... and then send the service books.

Pentarus, the user is not switching carriers. The 8703e and 8830 are both on Sprint's network. (They're both on Verizon also, but I assume the OP is referring to Sprint, since its indicated in their profile and original post.)

I believe you are confusing the 8830 with the 8800.

There's a Forgot Password link on the BIS login page. It's really when you forget your user name that you're stuck contacting your carrier's BB support.
