Default Tethering with VZW 8830

Please Login to Remove!

I have successfully paired my VZW 8830 with my XP SP2 desktop. When I run VZAccess Manager and use the wizard, it detects my phone over bluetooth. However, once the wizard is done and the main screen is up, it just says "device not found" in the bottom status bar. If I use the USB cable, it works fine. Any ideas?

I could be wrong, but I thought I read that Bluetooth DUN worked with Windows, but only if you used the Windows Bluetooth stack.

Do a search...it's been talked about.

Not yet, but I don't think that's the problem. With USB I can at least click the "Connect" button in VZAccess. (It later says "access denied" probably because I don't have the $15 tethering option.) With Bluetooth it won't even allow me to connect.

And yes, I am using the Microsoft bluetooth stack included with XP SP2.

Default USB Kick Start w/Bluetooth operation

here is one for the books. I as well have had problems getting BT to work with my BB using VZAccess. I was able to pair the phone using bluetooth for file management etc however vzaccess will not accept it. what i can do is start a vzaccess connection using the usb cable, disconnect the usb cable and have the connection remain and surf... odd but it works. i refer to it as my internet "crank" (like an old car)....
