After using my 7100, then 7105T for a few years, with Lotus Notes, then Outlook my BB would not sync, it failed out of the blue, after thousands of successful syncs.
After careful review of the postings in this Forum I found the posting above. After many unsuccessful attempts to solve the problem (i.e. removing and reloading software) I followed the instructions above, which stated to simply remove the RIM folder.
Once I did that, problem solved!!! Thank you so much. Now I am not only a user, but I'm also a member!
