What it boils down to so far, do we think the Administration can run the banks, insurance companies, mortgage companies, auto industry etc, better than the professionals out there who do this for a living?

IMHO, Congress and the Administration, no matter which side is in power, has a very difficult time running themselves! I just cannot see them making business work if they can't even run themselves efficiently. Politicos have no idea of profit and loss. When they run out of money, they appropriate more. They don't manage to a budget.

Yes they do have something to do with it, but after 2 months in office and all the bills he's signed; not one of which will help the American public, where is the stimulus he was going to inject and get the economy kick started like he so clearly campaigned on.

I think there is plenty he could have already done to help the general public instead of giving money to stupid programs, give the money to the people who need it and can really stimulate the economy.

If he wants to be this savior of the US then he really needs to get his head out of the clouds. He needs to go live in the real world and not 1000 dollar meals on valentines day. Not to mention the flight to Chicago in AF1 the cost of the secret service detail to sit by why he dines on lobster and caviar.

It's a good question. And one that always current. But left to their own devices, the insurance, banking and mortgage industries haven't had a very good run lately. They obviously need some oversight. An example is that AIG STILL plans on giving out $169 million in bonuses.

I guess only time will tell Dawg. I'm holding out hope that his strategies will work. If not, then we'll have a new president in a few years.

Hey if it was the Gators, the United States would have won 4 World Championships in the last few years! Come to think of it, the Gators are like the US.

No solid opinion yet, although of the men you have listed, I am most impressed with Jindal.

I would not choose Sarah Palin as a republican presidential nominee. She isn't subtle enough.

You can stand up for what's right without getting in people's faces.

We don't have the luxury of doing whatever we think best and taking the attitude of "so what if it alienates others." Why? Because today it's impossible to do that and accomplish anything in politics. If you don't have the luxury of being in the majority -- and conservatives don't -- you must work alongside those you disagree with, without alienating them, in order to move any part of your political agenda forward. It's simple math.

No steamrollers, please. I would ten times rather my favorite issues get some attention, than none of my positions get any because the politicians voicing those views are constitutionally incapable of controlling themselves.

Sarah Palen's willingness to 'push the button' (the nuclear button) without hesitation is disturbing to say the least. She said this in debates and interviews.

And there lies the problem "POLITICS". Our fat rich politicians who are in it for them selves not the people they represent. And I don't think anything will ever be accomplished along party lines.

Until people decide to vote out the fat cats in washington we will never see this country get any better.
