No, emailed messages is the point of this discussion. The app emails you a wav file. PhoneTag offers transcription, where is actually converts the voicemail into text and emails you the text.

If you look back at the thread Youmail also transcribes message to text or email for free.

Are you sure? Can someone else verify this? I just went to their website and I see nothing about transcribing voicemail, just emailing you the message in wav format.

Wow, that is very cool. I still prefer PhoneTag, because I like the client, but if you need transcription, that is awesome, free.

Are you refering to youmail? It does transcribe. Click on my account and then transcriptions Beta from the left menu. See the thumnail in my previous post.

The new youmail mobile site is very convenient. The VMs are listed so you can pick and choose which VM you want to listen too. The download speed is EXTREMELY FAST. I was very suprised.

This service just keeps getting better. And it has stayed free.

No problem. You will love the customizable VMs for each caller.

Take some time to add as many of your contacts to your contact list as possible. It will allow you to return VMs directly to their email, make groups, make VMs for groups and individuals, etc...

I agree, I keep trying different things with my phone and settings right now. I am truly impressed!

BTW David: Do you have both a text message and email sent as an alert? Also, when i go to listen to the mp3 as a message on my curve, I am getting "unrcognized format"

From what I know, the new mobile site is new as of today. As I said earlier the download speed of your VM is VERY fast. Just click and it plays.
Other than that most of it was already released. Just a few little things such as : "People you may know on youmail" when you log on to the website.
