hey i downloaded the 4.2 OS deleted vendor file. plugged in the bb and opened DM and its not asking for me to upgrade..so now what do i do

Do you still have the newer OS installed on your PC? Uninstall the newer via the control panel > Add/Remove programs.

Unplug the BB from the PC. Reboot both the PC and BB.

See if it gives you the option.

what is the status of the BB at this point?

For louder ringtones, just make your own, bump up the volume in Audacity and save them, and download to your BB.

i use audacity now. thats what i used for my lgs. my ringers are as loud as they go without distorting. on the blackberry you still cant hear it. although with the fix i provided they are very loud like they are intended to be.
