By the time the extended battery comes out, the upgrade to the 8700g will be out!!! No, rcg, it didn't take that long for the 8700c extended battery. 8700g users could've made their own extended battery by now!! Literally. I've given up on this battery. I have already bought an extra battery and go back and forth between the two. It is a pain in the you know what, but tired of waiting and tired of the lack of response --excuse me no response--that I get from calling and instant messaging smart phone depot. People from my office only ordered because of the recommendation from other buyers, as well as we saw you listed here on BB Forums. This has not been a nice shopping experience, especially with the no responses.

Maybe they're blowing up and catching fire like laptop batteries! I've actually paid for two of these batteries....what a sucker! I just hope I get something...someday.
edit....and yes the upgrade (if you will) is now almost out...the 8100. I wonder which will be out first, the battery for the 8700g or the 8100??? How long for an extended battery for the 8100?

The 8100 will be out before the extended battery to the 8700g. As a matter of fact, there will more than likely be a multimedia BlackBerry with a full qwerty before the 8700g extended battery is release.
Let's see...the 8100 hasn't been released yet and it'll probably get an extended battery before the 8700g.
Maybe an 8700c extended battery and a silicone case to serve as the door. Or better yet, how about some good ol' duct tape to serve as the door. ![Sad](http://www.blackberryforums.com/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)

I don't know why everyone is flipping on RCG, he is a good dude with a great company with great service. You surely don't believe he has a stockpile of 8700g extended batt doors do you? He is simply stating what information he is getting from RIM or his supplier (or both)

Boy Genius, I'm sure he'd enjoy making the money, but he needs to just take it off his site. He can start back taking orders again once he gets supplies. Right now, the product is on back order before he even gets his first shipment. Good guy or not, at least respond to the phone calls, emails, and instant messages. It has been on pre-order for several months. That's not good business to not respond to customers.

rcg...can you please refund my credit card for order#10085? If you want to put it back into a pending status or something for me that's fine but I'd like my money back for now. My card was charged back in the beginning of June.
Thanks,
John

Philly I don't recall any recent emails from you on this topic - perhaps I missed them. If you ever want to email me send it directly to me.
You may be rightxxx8230; the 8100 might have an extended before the 8700g. We are leaving the 87g battery on the site to alert customers of the coming product as well as comfort customers that have pre-ordered. As of today the date stands at Oct 2nd xxx8211; I donxxx8217;t have any confidence in that date, but that comes from RIM. We are in the same situation for the 8100 xxx8211; announced products from RIM with out the inventory. RIM shows them on ShopBlackberry but they call it xxx8220;out of stockxxx8221; even though none have ever shipped from them.
I understand your frustration xxx8211; I share it. I have 100 orders that are not actionable because of promised product that hasnxxx8217;t happened. Itxxx8217;s in our best interest to get product and ship it to customers. Thatxxx8217;s how I feed my kids and pay the mortgage.
[John thanks for alerting me to the activity in this thread]

Thanks, RCG.
Appreciate the refund. I hope they ship soon-like before the 8700g is outdated!! I understand it's not your fault but it is a little frustrating to all of us. Thanks for the reply.
John
Edit: For what it's worth, I noticed that some of the 8100 accessories availability dates have already changed since release date, too. I guess RIM just cant keep up with demand.

Almost October 1st. Still no extended battery door available. I guess I'll just wait util the 8800 hits ebay. My extended battery in my drawer can just sit there until early 2007?

Check youruplink.com. Search for ACC-11177-001, says they have 100 in stock.

Thanks wazdat1 for the info! I have been waiting for what seems like a short lifetime for this item. By the way, I believe that the door for the 8700g is also compatable with the 8703e. At least I'm 99.9% positive! If not, Ill find out the hard way!

extended battery at seidio online
I just purchased an extended battery and extended battery door for my 8700g from www.seidioonline.com. I purchased it on Friday, January 5, 2007, and it was shipped on Monday, January 8, 2007, via USPS Priority Mail. I received it on Wednesday, January 10, 2007.
If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask.
I ordered from SPD on June 25, 2006, and never heard back, so I cancelled my order after several months. I don't even see an extended battery on the SPD website for the 8700g now either. I know when I ordered mine, it was supposed to ship that week.

John, I'm pleased thusfar with receiving the merchandise timely and it was as described. I was little hesitant after my previous experience on ordering an extended battery for the 8700g. Several people at my office had also placed orders back in June as well. I know someone that placed an order for a different accessory on SPD on January 4, 2007, and his order still shows as processing. I went on the SPD website and cancelled my order. I hope that was sufficient because I never received any confirmation of my cancellation. Fedex super saver shipping and USPS Priority shipping will reach you at about the same time. The extended battery from seidio ships from Houston, TX, so depending on where you live. You might get your extended battery even sooner than I did.

I couldn't find where to cancel the order online. I called them and left a message. Hopefully they'll get the word. Hard to believe they haven't said anything after 7 months. They should have just cancelled it completely.

John, I'm surprised that everyone who ordered wasn't automatically cancelled either. I know it has been a long time.
