Just called CS and they indicated they are not selling it yet and confirmed the February 11th date.

Called yesterday afternoon and ordered with the 3 day shipping for an extra 19.99 or something. The only strange thing is when I go to UPS to track the shipment there is no information about it yet... they do say to allow 48 hours, but at the same time I am getting 3 day shipping so you figure it would be in the system after a day... oh, well... I have all the confirmation numbers and it was completed so I'm not worried about it.

Also, it is listed as the 8900 curve titanium in their system or at least thats what the csr kept repeating to me. Can't wait for it to get here!

hmm... did your tracking information show up right away? Also, I just got the automated text message today saying 'thanks for upgrading your phone blah blah and to call 611 if I did not place the order' or something... guess the order didn't go through till today.

How are you guys actually getting to upgrade? Ive called sales, retention, customer care. Ive used 611, then said upgrade, then blackberry, and they tell me that my account type (personal with corp discount) is not eligible to order this until 2/11. Is there something im not doing. Ive even mentioned to the CSR that I KNOW people are somehow getting this ordered and shipped, and she told me "they must be lying"....

Any ideas????

Thanks!!

I will confirm that I am NOT a business customer yet I was able to order the 8900 today. $199 after $100 mail-in rebate. 2 yr renewal. Very excited to get this new device early; it will be replacing my 8100.

Ordered mine yesterday around noon. Received it today about 2:00 PM. Having fun playing with it, but getting the SD card out is a real bear.

SO.....I called again (611, said upgrade, said blackberry), and when the agent came online the convo went as follows:
"I'm very mad, and and ready to cancel my contract. I have called at least 7 times, and despite these calls keep getting the same answer that you cannot upgrade me to this phone as I am not a business customer. I know you can, I have friends that have gotten this phone, and colleagues that have gotten this phone. Not to mention, I called last week, was offered the upgrade, but the call dropped. Can you help?"
The agents response, "YES!!"
So.....needless to say, I am on a personal account, and have gotten the phone for $199 AFTER mail in rebate. I did opt for express shipping, and the agent told me, that the order/phone will ship NO LATER than 1/28.......

WOOT WOOT!!!!

jeffro01 - thanks for those pics man.

I can never tell from the pics that people post if the back cover is "shiny" titanium or if it is a flat gray color.

mine is coming on Tuesday. I just called 611 and asked to upgrade my blackberry to the 8900. Had to call three times to get a proper CSR to do it.

I did it, got it on the second try. For those of you whp paid extra for 3 day shipping, did it require a signature on delivery?

No signature required for mine. TMO said 3 days, mine arrived the next day. Track it at UPS, track by reference. Your reference is your 10 digit cell phone number, include the dashes. xxx-xxx-xxxx

Service isn't too much of an issue if you have access to a wifi network. At least at home and work you should have no trouble with getting service.
