Default Regarding the Free games

Please Login to Remove!

Alright, so after many conversations with Cingular, I have finally subscribed to the fact that I cannot get the Blackberry browser without being on a BES. The browser *should* be available in 2 months says my rep. That being said, I'm disappointed that Magmic/RIM can't offer these games to the rest of us for free.

So, is it possible to swap a sim card with a BES user, download the games, and swap back? Not trying to be unethical, but I really want the games! =)

I have a BB 7290. When I try the link posted above I get an Error message. "The content you have requested is not available. Blackberry_7290_37_G command is not currently in service."

here is the EXACT Step by Step that I used to get the FREE Downloads that Magmic is so nice to let us have.
Here goes:
Use your Blackberry's WAP browser (not the new HTML Browser)
Go to mobile.blackberry.com
You should then see a WAP Page that is Off Grey with Blue letters and
has an Astronaut Spacewalking. If you dont see that, then stop becuase you will never get to it.
Then Select 'blackberry extras" (located under "games/applications")
Then you will see a screen that says "The Blackberry team hopes you
enjoy these free downloadable extras" and then you have the option of
selecting "Games - Ringtones or Wallpapers"
Select "Games"
You will then see a a form that says FILL IN FORM and u can select "I ACCEPT" or "I DO NOT ACCEPT" . You will select "I accept"
Then, after it processes for 30-45 seconds or so
You should then see the games .
KLONDIKE
BASS ASSASIN
RAGING RIVERS
SPIDER SOLITAIRE
TEXAS HOLD 'EM

Note: It is interesting how different WAP browsers bring up different
images/versions of this page. When I do not use the BB's WAP Browser, it doesnt display the light grey page and is simple Black and White and will not show the proper choices.I used my WAP Broswer for my Laptop (WIN WAP PRO 3.1) it displays a completely different page in a different order. But using my NEXTEL BB7520, it works as I have documented above. So I think it must have something to do with being what service provider as well as how that acct is setup why some can get right to it and some cannot. Also, I believe that the Post Count is not involved at this stage. Also, these are full versions, not Demos that do not require registration. But in the case of at least Texas Hold "Em it is an earlier release. I have paid for the version 2 , and to my untrained eye do not see a difference.

But in closing, as someone stated, these are top notch games and it is a great opportunity for the Forum members. Thanks to whoever is responsible. (I dont know if Im dumb, but the Bass Assasin game does take a bit of practice, so they arent something you play twice and can beat in 5 minutes) I would like to see those playing use the online scoring, maybe we can get a thread going so we can know who is who on the different games. For those that dont know, most all of Magmic's gam,es can be setup so that your scores (or winnings) can be uploaded and you are ranked as well as posted if within the top 10. And I can comfortable assure everyone that none of the names on any of the games are mine. lol
Thanks for the great step-by-step. Those games are good!!!

Just a quick note for Any Canadian Bell Mobility users. I have the 7250 and I had to use the HTML browser to get to the site, NOT the WAP browser. Stange but true...

Glad the Step by Step was helpful and not overkill. I dont think that you need to pump up your thread count to get the games anymore. Obviously if you have doine everything and still cant, then I would do that only as a last resort. Many have reported it was not needed.

You don't need a BES BlackBerry to download the games. I was able to download them a few months ago with my non-BES 7290. Have you tried using the BlackBerry browser, as opposed to the T-Mobile (T-Zones) browser?

Default Browser Access?

Ay idea on how to access these games if you don't have the page with the astronaut? I get to the license agreement page, click on accept and then get an error screen stating "The content you have requested is not available. Games are unavilable for your device."
Am I missing something here? I have a 7100G using the Cingular browser. This page appears exactly as described with the exception of the astronaut.
Thanks,
Neil

The mobile.blackberry.com site has been recently updated, so you won't see the animated SVG home page with the astronaut. You should be able to download the free games using the application called "Internet Browser" or the "BlackBerry Browser" on your device. (Click on the 'Extras' link from the home page), The WAP browser, as far as I can tell, will not work to download the Free Magmic games. The site is a combination of SVG and HTML.
