With 4.2, I couldn't use my Jawbone 2 at all on my 8320 while UMA was on. I had to switch to EDGE only for the J2 to work properly with the 8320. 4.5 has improved greatly on my BT problem. I can receive calls in UMA with my J2 on, but still can't place a call. It's annoying, but not a crucial issue for me. I just keep my 8320 on EDGE only when I want to use my J2. I never had any this trouble with other BT headsets.

Otherwise, I like 4.5 a lot. The only minor gripe I have is that my 8320 constantly reverts back to the original T-Mobile Jingle ringtone. I can't figure out why. It's a nuisance to keep reloading my CTU ringer.

Does anybody have a problem with their phone freezing up? I upgraded the to 4.5.0.81 last night & i noticed it would freeze occasionally during startup. Like it would show that its verifying security software & freeze up. It also froze up everytime i would go & try to change my wallpaper and when i restored my data. I had no problems upgrading the os but when i tried to downgrade back to 4.2, same thing. I dont know if i did something wrong but it just seemed really unstable to me. I used dm 4.2 sp2 if that matters.

Default Viewing PDFs: enhance option gone?

This question may belong elsewhere (in which case, please tell me; I'm new), but since I upgraded my TMo 8320 from 4.2 to now two different iterations of 4.5 (currently 4.5.0.108/4.5.0.81), I've found my ability to view PDFs attached to e-mail isn't what it used to be. Under 4.2, I had the option to zoom & enhance. Now I can zoom but the enhance option seems to have disappeared. Could this be a BES issue (that hasn't been upgraded)? Am I missing some setting that somehow got reset with the upgrade?

Any help would be appreciated.

Ignore my PDF viewing question. I found another thread that discusses it.

Default Media Card Support?

So, I have successfully upgraded my t-mobile 8320 to the latest OS. Thanks everyone for their feedback and instruction; reading all of your posts make the transition very easy!

Now to my question, I have a 8 gb media card in my 8320. It worked great before the upgrade (4.2 before). Now I installed 4.6 DM and upgraded my OS to 4.5.0.81, the phone will only recognize the card as a 4gb instead of 8gb. Has anyone else experience this problem as well? I did the battery-pull and reset and nothing resolved this issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Default Installer will not install the files to the directory

Once before I had the problem of the upgrade file not installing the new files to the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader folder.

Not sure why the 8320.msi is not unpacking the files. I just end up with a windows installer menu text with the following information along with an OK button.

I just got my T-Mo Curve yesterday. I am going to attempt this upgrade tonight...in case I have an issue could someone direct me to the correct method for downgrading should I need to?

Thank you. It's been about 2 years or so since I had a BB...finally got tired of the WinMo platform ticking me off all day long with it's constant lockups.

Hi, Im trying to upgrade my OS from 4.2.2.180. I followed the instructions to no avail. Im somewhat of a BB newb, but I do have the 9000, and was able to upgrade that software with no problem. When I connect the 8320 to the device manager, the application list does not populate. Yet, when I plug in my 9000, the application list populates. Any ideas?

Just finished the upgrade. Went pretty flawlessly. I did seem to lose the preloaded MyFavs icons and backgrounds though...anyone know how to get those back?

Can I do this upgrade using DM 4.2.2.14?

Which language do I go with? Multilanguage or English (I'm a TMo user in USA)

For those that have upgraded to this 4.5 version, how is the battery life? I had upgraded to 4.5 (maybe .55 but not sure) and the battery would die in a matter of a few hours. I downgraded because of it. Just wondered if 4.5.081 fixed the battery life issue.

Thanks.

Scrap that...there was just a really looooong time before the second reboot. Now I have all the icons I had before plus about 20 additional ones

All less than 24 hours of owning the phone...LOL!

Being trying for hours now to get new OS to work, still nothing. Im using a TMo 8320; OS 4.2.2.180. I did a wipe handheld, then downloaded the OS. Deleted the vendor.xml ran DM and nothing popped up, then DM flashed white for a sec as if it were gonna prompt the update, but nothing. I did the same steps on upgrading my 9000 and it went flawless. Im running DM 4.6. Im not very familiar with the 8320, but when I connect it via USB it shows the white connection screen then goes back to the home screen, is that normal? On the 9000, I get asked if I want to use mass storage mode. Any help would be appreciated.

I just downgraded to DM 4.2.2, still nothing. It just seems that there may be a problem with the device communicating with the PC, I set all the permissions to "Allow" on the unit, and Ive done a wipe handheld, can anyone please add any insight?

I'm running v4.5.0.81 w/ a 8320 on T-Mobile's network. It seems to randomly go to lowercase edge or lowercase uma at times. if i use the browser w/ the lowercase connection it will take a few extra seconds, jump back to uppercase and work normally again. also toggling the wirless off and on will reconnect to uppercase.

This was fixed with Rel_123 (.93) If you upgrade you shouldn't experience those problems. ;)
