I have an 8700g with BES and am using an old yahoo account to upload to flickr and never got it to work myself. Go back a few posts and you will see nobody replied with a way around it. Finally deleted the program since I couldn't use it.

Default JiveSlide and BES issues

Hi kerryg,

Sorry for the delay in responding to you and to others that have not had a prompt response. We are coming to the conclusion that some users that are running with BES are getting a whole host of issues relating to accessing jiveslide.com at the TCP application layer. It is a hard nut to crack because some users have no issue at all while others cannot get it to work and we cannot provide a solution. Essentially if you follow our help section and still cannot view any pictures at all including the JiveSlide examples that we provide then there is a serious connectivity issue – one that would probably require some tinkering with your BES settings. JiveSlide is a handy app but I don’t think one should go messing with their IT infrastructure just to get it to work for them.

I wish I could tell you more but at this point I cannot.

Thanks for giving JiveSlide a try and I am sorry it did not work out for you.

Sincerely,

Eric

Eric,
I just tried the program with T-Mobile on the 8700g (non BES) and it works great. One thing you should add however is the ability to save any picture you'd like on the fly while your going through the slide show. I would love to be able to be looking at the slide show and be like "hey that'd look good as my background" then click the thumb wheel and select save, it saves to my "pictures" on the BB, then the slide show continues. Any chance of that happening?

I can view the samples just fine. I just cannot get to my own account which is a Yahoo account from 1999 that I use to log into flickr.

Default Saving Pictures

Hi Ian,

Saving pictures is a feature that we have planned for our next release. The bigger issue is nailing down our next release. We have the version that does save the image in alpha release but we are busy on other projects right now we cannot find the resources to migrate it to at least beta. Saving Pictures is one of the most requested features and we should be having a new release in the summer.

Cheers,

Eric

Default Hmmm that is odd!

Hi kerryg,

Hmmm you can see the samples but not your own! That one is weird – so the album settings are set to public and you are using one of the following for your Flickr account name – Your Yahoo userID, or since you have an old existing Flickr account your e-mail address that was used by Flickr to send you e-mail. So say you had an account and your login was kerrygphoto and your registered e-mail was [email address] – the Flickr account you would enter in for JiveSlide would be [email address]. Since you removed the program I guess this may be moot – but I thought I would send this out there anyway.

If that is what you did and it did not work please send me a quick note and we will look into things on this end.

Cheers,

Eric

Mine is working fine, but as others have requested.. I would like to access my "non public" photos. I really don't want to share everything to the world. It's been a while and it appears their timetables have seriously slipped. (January to August)

Either way... nice app, hope to see it develop.

Also: Ofoto/Kodak Gallery support would be great. (considering they have a mac client)

edit" Looks like ofoto has their own wap setup... $2.99 per month..

Default Time keeps on slippin....

Hi genearch,

Yup timelines have slip significantly on our end – not because we don’t care but because we have been swamped with consulting work and have not had the spare time to put developers on the task to finish the next build. We also now have to contend with Yahoo Photo’s going with a completely new look and feel. Once the new version of Yahoo Photo’s settles down and Flickr has completed migrated under the roof of the Yahoo network we will be focusing on Private folders and Saving images to the Blackberry – ohh and our workaround for some bugs to deal with certain BES configurations.

Thanks for the interest and do not despair we have not lost our interest in supporting JiveSlide.

Cheers,

Eric
