I had a very weird thing happen to my blackberry a few days after I loaded 0.69

The majority of my buttons were remapped to different combinations of letters. For example when I press my green "Call" button it would type out the characters "yi" and when I pressed the space button it would type "nm". Only about half the buttons worked as they should.

I fixed it by reloading my previous backup.

I took the plunge this morning, two things of note: this OS "fixes" my device not charging under Fedora 9, it now works perfectly - the other is that the SyncJe 3.0.0 beta client works great.

I took the safe route and wiped my device and only restored trivial items (Browser Bookmarks, etc.) and no other data, reinstalling and reconfiguring all 3rd party apps by hand.

Default not connecting to uma or edge with 4.5.0.69?

i seem to be having a problem with .69 that's strange....
every now and them my radio will not connect? usually when i come out of an
area with no coverage ( i work in the lower level of a building with poor
coverage even with wifi ) if i power cycle my curve 8320 it comes back?
it's a little annoying not worth scraping the upgrade though.

anyone else having this happen?

Usually you can just turn off the mobile network and then turn it back on.

I gotta say, Docs2Go is one robust app. I've thrown a huge spreadsheet at it and it can correctly find the data in the right column on row 7438 of the document - takes awhile, but it does the job. I've thrown the full doc of TCPIP Illustrated Vol 1 at it (~500pp) and it rocked that book. It has a few problems with more graphic intense docs (it goes ugly on the USPSA and IDPA rulebooks/handbooks) and those with intense formatting (like Scott Sigler's 'Infected'). It's handling Cory Doctorow's Little Brother like a champ however! Even has bookmark support which is nice.

But I digress. I started out with some 26meg free after the fresh OS install, I'm down to 16meg free already. Kickin strong though, no weird problems and quite snappy. I can't stand the new bold header on unread emails/sms however, it's horrible looking with the standard BBMilliBank Tall font. Craptastic!

(that 2-line address book needs to go as well, what a waste of space - bad UI choice, RIM)

Try the alpha sans fonts....very nice. IMO, the best part of the 4.5 upgrade. The 8700 didn't get those.

You get used to the two line address book.

Does this version fix the BB Messenger contact reset bug? Been looking for a resolution to it. If I just install the new BB Messengers files from this beta, will it work or is the BBM OS specific? I am running a 8300 on 4.5.0.55.

Nope, it doesn't, I'm having the same issue. Only happens if I reset the phone.

I find battery life sucks with this build, especially with bluetooth on, I cant seem to make it a full day with a battery. And no I am not on the phone all the time. UMA is buggy as well, cant seem to hold a stable connection

Do you know what settings are on the router you're using? When I set my Beacon Interval to 50 (as suggested in the FAQ) my battery gets hit very hard. When I set it back to 100 (default) my battery does pretty well.

I'm finally within distance of a Windows PC; I'm still in the process of upgrading. Well, good luck to me.

EDIT: Boy was I surprised too when I was able to find a copy on the web as most of the links weren't working or have already been taken down
