Default DST one hour variance from Lotus calendar

Please Login to Remove!

Something weird just happened... When I make a calendar appointment on my 8800 and there's a one hour variance between that and my Lotus Notes calendar and vice-versa. Anyone how to fix this? I am on BES and the patch may have been pushed to my 8800 when it does not necessarily need it as it's one of the device not affected by the new DST.

Oh forgot to also add that for some reason, some calendar appointments still match but the new ones don't.

If you're running Windows XP, make sure you have the latest timezone updates from Microsoft. In your location settings in Notes, you must also specify to use your OS timezone settings. I'm assuming your using Notes in a corporate environment, make sure your PC and Notes admins follow the following guide on IBM's website. (I'm not allowed to post URL's yet)

Let me know if neither of these are true and I can assist. Good luck!

Where's the setting in Lotus Notes?

Here's another thing I just discovered. All appointments from March 10 and back are right. All appointments from March 11 and forward have the 1 hour variance.

I went into my calendar to look at my schedule for this week and noticed that my meeting on Tuesday March 13 that is always at 9:30am is now on my 8800 at 10:30am. another appointment that is Thursday March 15 that is for 12:00pm is now on my 8800 at 1:00pm.

My IT guy said that they would be pushing the DST patch out to all BBerry users tomorrow, March 5th, but I am experiencing the problem this morning, Sunday March 4th.

Very odd. Will let you all know what happens.

I, too, am using BBerry with Lotus notes.

I'm not in front of my PC with Notes ATM, but I believe you goto File/Mobile/Edit Current Location. On the advanced tab, their should be an option to use OS Timezone settings.

Your schedule conflicts are because either your device has the update and your PC doesn't or vice versa. There are Lotus Scripts on the IBM's site on deploying DST2007 fixes.

Thanks for the response. I just checked my Lotus notes settings and they are set to use the Operating System time zone settings so I obviously have a mismatch. Will be interesting to see what happens after they push the DST patch to me tomorrow. Will try to report back.

Oh, and FWIW, i told my IT guy that I had an 8800 and that I didn't think it needed the DST patch and he said that he thought it did. Hopefully nothing gets screwed up.

The 8800 doesn't need a patch. I tried forcing it to an 8800 just to test, nothing happened. It will just report as "Not Needed"/

Will be interesting to see. I was supposed to get the patch push today as stated by our BES Admin but so far nothing came. They pushed it on a schedule based on people's last name. I will let you know too if anything happens on my side. Let us know what happens on yours.
