I've had one for a few weeks now, and I realize this thread is old. I got the one on the top right of BlackBerry 9700 Accessories. It was only $20 and has worked like a dream for me.

It's too bad most local stores around here in Central New Jersey, seemingly, never have pods available. I hope to see the station available soon too, would be cool.
Going to snatch mine (9700) in a day or two!

Ordered this and a skin off ebay. The charging pod was 14.70 shipped. Quite a few sellers on ebay selling it that much.

I bought mine through Amazon from a company called BlueHarbor. They have a standalone site which is more expensive than through Amazon. It was $13 with shipping. Ordered it Sunday and it arrived on Tuesday... doesn't hurt that they're like 10 miles away though. Sometimes the sellers with lower prices charge more for shipping so look around.

I also got mine (x2) via BlueHarbor through Amazon. Ordered Friday, showed up yesterday. Not bad at all. Total was about $30 for two including shipping.

I just got mine from Blue Harbor on Ebay for $14.39 with free shipping. Search on Ebay for "Blackberry 9700 charging pod".

There any real disadvantages to getting them on ebay or amazon . . . I'll admit, I've never bought anything off of them. Though I don't see the point in paying more than double for a charging pod if they are available, as new units, at half the price, shipped.

As opposed to going to a store and paying full retail? Even those lousy car chargers cost you $29 at an ATT or Best Buy store.

Somehow this thread changed subjects from the Powerstaion charging cradle to the charging pod. The charging pods are now readily availble. As anybody spied the 9700 cradle for the Powerstation? I don't see it on the bb site.

Good catch. I had forgotten about those things since I so rarely hear people talking about them. You mean this thing:

I own two of them- one at home and one at work. The actual cradle where the BB mounts is removalble so it can accomodate various BBs without buying the entire Powerstsation. Likewise the battery holder is removable and replaceable. Hopefully Rim will support this with a cradle for the 9700.

Yes, I wish they'd hurry up and produce the charging cradle insert to allow the Bold 9700 to fit the Bold 9000 power station (as the cradle inserts simply clip off and can be purchased separately, presumably because the power station also existed for other handsets created prior to the Bold 9000 thus users of the Bold 9000 handset could simply buy the new insert to use with their existing power station). My power station is sitting at home useless.
It's only a bit of modelled plastic that sells for $5.99 so why is it taking so long?

Are the charging contacts in the same place? I believe the contacts on the 9700 are lower on the device than on the 9000. Why spend $6 on a kludged solution when you can get the real thing for around $10? Just curious.
