Hey hows everything...Im new to BlackBerry forums but im not new to forums period tho so i know most of you guys are going to tell me to "use the search function" but hopefully some of you wont....so here it goes...i had a few questions about my new blackberry 8700c...i was wondering if it is possible to get blackberry messenger on my phone cuz i know the 8800 have it installed already...also is there any way to install the GPS feature on the 8700 aswell....last question...i want to put AIM on it...how can i go about doing all these things????? thanks in advance....

I believe if you have OS 4.2 the BlackBerry Messenger is an option to be installed via the Desktop Manager. With OS 4.1 (which the BlackBerry comes with) I believe you have to install it manually. As far as GPS, you could get a bluetooth GPS puck and pair it with tha BlackBerry.

hey thanks a lot!....and i checked and i actually have OS 4.1 in my BB...can i download OS 4.2 and it will give me the option to install the BB Messenger from the desktop manager??? also, so theres no way to do the same GPS type system that the 8800's have? i belive its called Telenav or something like that...thanks again

Yes, once you install the 4.2 OS the BlackBerry Messenger should be an option to install.

I believe Telenav is a program you install on the BlackBerry to get directions. This uses the 8800's built-in GPS, which the 8700 does not have. By purchasing a bluetooth GPS device you can add GPS capabilities to the 8700c. I don't know if it will work with Telenav, as I haven't tried it. You can check Telenav's site to see, though.
