Will it transfer time directly into our billing system (Carpe Diem) or will it just generate a timesheet or what?

Thanks.

yes it does. Integration with accounting systems take a little longer so it does not come with the trial version but it does work. On the trial version you will see the accumulation on the website but once the product is purchased it integrates automatically.
Thanks Mav.

If you're seeking to have someone try out your software, it seems to me that you'd want to give them the non-trial version.

Well the only thing is the trial version does most of what you want. It's too costly to do integration for everybody just because of the amount of different accounting packages available. The trial does just about everything you need.

I need the software to allow me to log client, date, time, work completed and then ship that off to a database so I can load it into a billing system.

Also, I'm a Microsoft Dynamics GP consultant and can help you integrate it if you haven't done that yet.

Default Timeslips

Hey Jeff:

We have basic integration capability with TimeSlips – nothing fancy. If enabled, the user can export to a CSV that can be loaded in to TimeSlips and import a CSV of client/matters and Favorites.

While I have no need to track time, most of our 180 BB users do.
A few questions that I could not find answers to on your website.
  • Do you integrate with CMSOpen? If so, how?
  • The client matter lookup, is it a live lookup from the billing software's database or does it just sync to another table/db?
  • Does time get pushed OTA into the billing software's database (so that atty can enter time OTA and secretary can instantly edit it in the office?)
  • How is this licensed, per device? per usage?
  • When the user hangs up the phone, does he/she instantly get prompted with the option to enter the client/matter info? or does it require a click to open a menu?
  • When a user gets an email and replies, does he/she instantly get prompted with the option to enter the client/matter info? or does it require a click to open a menu?
The last two have always been important to me from ROI perspective of a per user expense of any time-tracking software, plus users are stressed and lazy, the easy way out will win over the billable hour when running to catch a plane or trying to eat lunch before heading to court.
This is not quite the concern if it is per usage expense but in the end the purpose is to capture more time, so it does still apply in that sense.

* Do you integrate with CMSOpen? ** YES **If so, how? ** Either a daily
batch, or if desired we can do SQL integration **

* The client matter lookup, is it a live lookup from the billing software's
database or does it just sync to another table/db? ** We cache the lawyer's
Favorites/Most Recently Used matters on the Blackberry. This can be up to
200 of their open cases and is searchable. We do not do OTA lookups -- there
has been no demand for that. **
* Does time get pushed OTA into the billing software's database (so that
atty can enter time OTA and secretary can instantly edit it in the office?)
** Timed events and time entries are pushed OTA to the Airtime server. If
that's behind the firm's firewall, the integration with CMS can be
near-realtime **

* How is this licensed, per device? per usage? ** per managed device *** When the user hangs up the phone, does he/she instantly get prompted with
the option to enter the client/matter info? or does it require a click to
open a menu? ** Popup is instantly available after each call or email. our software learns associations between the lawyer's contacts
and their billable matters. So, it will recognize contacts and automatically fill them with that client info. **

* When a user gets an email and replies, does he/she instantly get prompted
with the option to enter the client/matter info? or does it require a click
to open a menu? ** Yes it's instant. But you can set it up in intervals if you would like. Most like doing it right after the call. But you can do accumulations too so that you can set it to pop up in 5 minute intervals instead of 20 seconds here and another 20 seconds there. Completely up to you.
Feel free to drop me an email if you have any more questions.

We have yet to do those two but my tech teams say they are doable.
