Default How to unlock BB?

Please Login to Remove!

I'm VERY new to unlocking phones.

I know what it means...

But how do I go abouts doing it? Is there always a cost assiociated with it?

I know I could bring it to some kiosk at the mall and pay 30 bucks, but just wondering if it's something I could do on my own?

You're carrier may provide you with the unlock code for free if your payments are current and have built up some tenure with them. (6 months is the norm, check with your carrier for specifics).

Barring that, these folks are affordbale and treat their customers very well:

Yes, but I believe that you need to unlock because you are not in contract with Rogers. So going to the carrier it wont help too much.

So wait, if I'm a memeber with Rogers (which I am,) they may provide a code to me for unlocking for free?

So those vendors in the mall, where do they get their codes from? And are the codes locked to only ONE phone?

I doubt it. They're not known as Robbers for no reason.

And yes, the code is unique to each device.

Rogers will not provide the unlock codes for your devices... they did in the past for a cost of $250 per code, then stopped about 2 years ago
