Default 7100T T Mobile PIN message

Can someone tell me if a PIN message is transmitted via SMS or email, or some other way?

Also I think its directly between user to user without involving RIM's infrastructure

It certainly involves RIMs infrastructure; it does not involved your Exchange or Domino infrastructure or BWC. The path is your handheld -> RIM -> appropriate carrier -> Destination BlackBerry

RIM has to do the routing from your carrier to the destination carrier.

So then, does it take from my SMS bucket?

no, because it requires a data plan to use if I remember right.

PIN is a remnant of the original blackberries. It is still supported however.

I use it more than SMS actually. At least you can tell when items are delivered. That way you know if they're in service or not when the item is sent, and when it's received to the handheld.

Different from enabling delivery reports with SMS?

It is similar to an SMS delivery report, but PIN to PIN works for every BlackBerry, including those that do not support SMS (like the C++ devices, CDMA, iDen). I know you can do "pseudo SMS" to CDMA and iDen, but it is not SMS in the strictest sense, since SMS is part of the GSM specification.
