Warning: The reboot of the 7100t after upgrading to 4.0 takes 20 minutes (or more - I wasn't really watching). Just let it go....

thats about right...20 mins for me with upgrade
I'll have to say 4.0 BES and a 4.0 device Rocks on the wireless activation. We can activate devices all over the world with this and our international travelers never need to sync at a desktop again for most things. This and OTA install of apps... just magic..

Another Warning (for non-TMO users): Wireless Activation and the new wireless reconciliation options require much more bandwidth to use. Please consult your provider's data plan prior to using.
I used up 2MB of data in one day. Fortunately, TMO's data plan is unlimited.

Mark, just a note. This version will be newer than the other providers you have listed (which are Package version). The 4.0.0.198 is the Applications version. I'm not sure what the actual Package version is for this release.

IM Not Working after 4.0 upgrade
Just upgraded my 7100t to the 4.0.0.198 handheld code. Everything is working except for IM. When I try to run it I get "Error Starting InstantMessaging: Module 'net_rim_midletresumption' not found". When I look at installed Apps I see that Instant Messaging is still at 3.80.18. I do not see anything In APPLoader that would let me update IM. Does the 7100t have a 4.0 IM client? Anyone having this problem? Any ideas?

There was a fix for this problem on the T-Mobile install instructions.

After completing the desktop manager and software handheld upgrades, if you receive an error while accessing your Instant Messaging application, please follow these steps: a) Go into Tools, Settings, and Service Book b) Highlight T-Mobile USA IM Client Application and choose delete from the menu. c) Go back to settings and select Applications d) Highlight the Instant Messaging Application and choose delete from the menu e) Restart your device - the device may prompt you for this step f) Go into Tools, Settings, Host Routing Table g) Choose Register Now from the menu h) A new Instant Messaging application will download over the air. You will know this process is complete when you see the IM icon re-appear on your main screen.

Yep. This also works on other handheld versions as well. Just FYI.

I can confirm a near 20 minute reboot. Has anyone activated their 7100T with 4.0 OS and the myblueberry service?

My upgrade took 33 minutes which included a backup and restore. This didn't include the IM fix which took another 5 min or so. Besides that, everything is great!

My updates over the last week have varied. Each time, mine has done a wireless activation. My longest full installation and activation took a bit more than hour. Within the enterprise, this will all be dependent on how many contacts, tasks, etc that you have.
These last few reboots have taken about 10 minutes max. I have done 5 different OS4.0 installations on one handset. Another handset (brand new) only took about 20 minutes total.
Start the upgrade and wander away from your computer for a bit. When you come back, you should be good to go.

The upgrade instructions as provided by T-Mo seem to conflict as to when to connect the handheld to the PC. Is it done right before the installation of the handheld software? Or only after both desktop and handheld software are installed?
