I have one BES currently 4.1.2. We have multiple Exchange servers in different locations(Mississippi, Washington DC, Huntsville AL, Montgomery, AL and Birmingham, AL),however our BES is located at the home office (Birmingham, AL). The CDO.DLL and Mapi32.dll files are from the Birmingham Exchange server (SP1). and all other locations have been upgraded to SP2. Does the BES only need the CDO.DLL and Mapi32.dll of one Exchange Server? All locations are working correctly except our MTG office, which the Application log is recording a SYNC fail for the wireless calendars. PERMISSIONS are the same on the MTG Exchange as every other location. However, MTG has been recently upgraded from 2000 to 2003, thus leaving the 2000 exchange server still listed in the servers list, but not being used.

Every user in MTG logs this in the application log:{username@domain.com} Synchronize() failed: ERR_FAIL, Tag=845284

Any thoughts?

Apply ESM SP2 to the BES.
Rule of thumb MAPI/CDO needs to be great or equal to the highest version exchange server.
it is safe to copy the cdo from exchange but don't copy mapi

Does the BES only look at what Exchange Srvr the Service Account resides on for the CDO and MAPI files?

The BES looks at the CDO and mapi files that are installed with ESM on the BES itself. You need to make sure is matches or is better than the highest version in the environment.

Ok, but Birmingham does not have SP2, it only has SP1 while MTG currently has SP2 on it's exchange server.
