Default Keep Message for XX days does not work

Please Login to Remove!

Hello.
I have an 8320 with T-Mobile. I have my messages settings set to keep messages for 30 days. It used to work and every day i would see oldest messages are being deleted and that i have only 30 days worth of messages. Recently I have noticed that it is no longer the case and I have messages started mid November. I tried play with the "keep messages" settings and toggle 15, 60 days, etc but that did no help.

Is this a common issue? Is there a remedy for this?

Thanks!

So you are stating that you have TOO many messages (that are old) and that you are not losing messages that should not be deleted right?

I would start with a battery pull and see if it clears. If not goto the message folder and Hit Menu>View Saved Messages (I beleive saved messages are excused from the auto delete). Are they saved messages?

I am stating that I have more messages than I should. According to my settings i should have only 30 days worth of messages, and I have a lot more, dating back to November. I checked saved messages and I do not have any.

Got the exact same issue with no idea how to fix it (deleting those messages "manually" on the BB would also get rid of them on Exchange where I do not want to delete them). This problem gets worse as it eats up memory and performance quickly.

I don't know how to fix the op problem, so that the messages older than 30 days remove from the balckberry automatically, but if you highlight a Date, press the menu button and choose Delete Prior it will delete the email only from the Blackberry.

You will only see the Delete Prior option when you have highlighted a Date.

Hope this helps.

You should have a choice of whether to delete messages on 'Mailbox and Handheld" or "Handheld Only." If you don't, go into your Messages folder and go to Options >Email Reconciliation and set it to Prompt or Handheld.
