Default Re-registering Storm

Please Login to Remove!

Hi there,

Just had my Storm unlocked here in the UK I'm on an o2 BB tariff but can't register my Storm with o2 it says I have to re-register the phone how do I do this do I need to phone o2 or will they block this request as it was a Vodafone Storm?

Any help much appreciated, Tim.

Are you on BIS or BES?

O2 will not "block" it because it's a Storm.

In Options>advanced options>host routing table....have you got any entries in there?

Hi there,

The issue occurred when I went to create a new BIS account it asked me to enter my serial number and IMEI number then the re-registering message pops up.

However I've now gone in and its let me set-up a new account there were no files in the host routing table.

Looks like I've got my Storm working now to get rid of the Vodafone theme.

Again many thanks for your response.

Tim.

So you have created your BIS account? Good stuff.

You won't receive any email before you see entries in the Host routing table though.
No entries means it's not registered on the network.
Go back in there and click menu button and select "register now" from sub menu.

I would also just double check with O2 that the BB tariff is definitely applied.

Did you say you wanted ot already got rid of the Vodafone Theme?

If you haven't already, go to o2email.co.uk then the menu Service Books and click Send Service Books.

service books won't get to the device though if it isn't registered on the RIM/ BlackBerry network.
Once the device register on the network you will see entries in the HRT and you will hreceive an email saying "your device is now registered on the wireless network"

Hi there,

I think the problem was that the o2 BB bolt on had not been activated once it was I managed to set-up my accounts on the o2email site and send the service book to the Storm and now there are entries in the host routing folder and I'm getting my E-mails, brilliant.

Now I've still got the Vodafone screen but I don't think you can get rid of it yet as the member on here who unlocked it says there's no software to de-brand the Storm yet. Or is there a way to get rid of the Vodafone screen?

Again many thanks for all your help, Tim.
