Thanks Jibi- Some good points

I hope you get a chance to compare the update and let us know if those of us with the shipped OS will benefit. It would be nice if Verizon would post release notes. I don't want to spend needless time doing the upgrade if its the same OS I already have.

I'm downloading now. But from what I see the upgrade has the same OS and Platform as the current OS. Did you notice anything new?

Haven't noticed anything, but haven't spent much time with it. My guess is that it is the same OS.

Thanks for the response. I'll just keep a copy of it on my PC for now until someone says its different. My 8703e is working very well without any problems.

BTW, how is the Zen theme working for you? Is the navigation response times fast?

On your Zen theme, do you have the option of turning off the text next to the icons?

This is likely the OS that shipped. This simply gives you a reference place on your PC so that you can use the ALX file - otherwise, it'd be useless.

Vodafone is included. Dimension is not. You may actually need the Dimension for the Vodafone theme to show up, to be perfectly honest. The only Dimension theme included was the Icon one.

Thanks for the update. I figured the OS was reference from the shipped version. I don't expect anything new until 4.2(maybe).

Barring any major bugs, I think you are correct.

...although it would be worth noting that there will be newer versions from other carriers, most likely. Example - Sasktel's version will be 4.1.0.492 (package). So don't pack up shop just yet...

The vodafone today screen absolutely rocks. Makes this phone so much more user friendly. Are there other today versions out there with different layouts?

Where did you get this theme from? I tried the Zen theme and did not prefer it over the dimension-icon theme.

Default 8703 increased volume settings

I couldn't see if this question was already answered, so if it was please point me in the right direction. I have the 8703 (replaced the 8700 cingular) and wanted to get the increased volume settings from the Telstra/Bharti loads. Does the verizon software include the increased volume settings, or is that part of the today/zen themes?

Thanks alot,
