Default problems with the internet browser

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everybody,
I have a 8700v (originally Vodafone Austria) that I unlocked and I use with a german SIM card of T-Mobile.

I never had Internet Browser but, after some help, an icon called Vodafone Live appeared in my desktop and I've been using that as a browser, although it didn't really allow me to acces every site.

I also tried to install Opera Mini but it always tells me that it's impossible to run (It asks me to do some tests with the phone and, once done, says the software can't run).

Recently, and by mistake, I hidded the Vodafone Life application from my desktop and now it's totally gone. It doesn't show up, not even when I click on "Show All". In fact, I go to Options - Advanced - Browser and in "Default Browser Configuration" nothing appears anymore.

Of course, all the http addresses from my emails aren't links anymore.

Other than that, the phone works fine and I keep sending and receiving emails.

Can somebody in the forum maybe enlighten me with some help?

Thanks in advance

Hmm. I am not sure what that means, sorry.
My provider does know that I have a Backberry, I receive e-mails and even in the last invoices I paid for GPRS connections....
I am just wondering how can it be that I used to have a browser and now I don't have it anymore

eraserhead, the blackberry data plan is a service that you would be paying for if you had it. It is different from whatever ordinary carrier data you might have, and it is needed to access blackberry-specific data services. See blackberryfaq.com for detailed info.

For non-blackberry apps that require data service, you will of course need data service through your carrier, and you will need to set you TCP info on the blackberry. The BBFAQ will help you there, too. For opera mini, see there web site help if you haven't already. You may also find helpful info in the aftermarket software forum.

That's all I can tell you. Maybe someone can help with the vodafone life question, but my advice is talk to your carrier.

EDIT: also, do a hard reset (pull battery for 30+ seconds. If you have a blackberry data plan, resend service books (see the faq).
