Default typing an email address in the 7130g

Please Login to Remove!

Hello

I just got my first blackberry, a 7130g, i cant type an email address because i cant type the "."
i looked up the manual, and it says that to type a ".", i need to press 0 twice. when i do it after say joe i get the @ sign, and then i get a ., how do i get a . directly

also i cant figre out how to delete characters in the middle of the sentence.

e.g. if i have joe@.smith and i want to get rid of @, how do i position the cursor so that i can delete @ in the alphabetical sequence

To move your cursor horizontally (that's left and right) hold down the ALT key.

In typing an email address, the BB defaults to the first space key being pressed as the @ symbol. So if you have a "." in the first part of your e-mail address, you will have to use the plain old period.

thanks for helping

so i have to press alt, then scroll to left or right one character and then type alt and then do the scroll again. if my understanding is correct, then for 4 charatcres to the right, i need to have pressed alt 4 times followed by 4 scrolls downwards

what is the plain old preiod, i think i can see one above o and p, but when i type that in the suretype software only gives options "o" and "p"

You can hold the alt button while you move the thumbwheel, you don;t have to press it constantly. Press the alt key to get any of the numbers or symbols that are above the letters.

Hyphen key "-" is on the symbols menu. Press the SYM key at the same time as the ALT key. Symbols menu will pop up, select the item you wish.

By the way, trying to be helpful to you, you might want to read the instruction book or PDF file manual for your phone, search on the board, or even on your phone (help) for answers to basic questions. You would have your problems solved a lot quicker, likely.

Good luck.
