Default Strange Problem

Please Login to Remove!

One of our user Blackberry is having stupid kind of a problem. Let me tell you about this complex issue in detail.
On last Saturday the user complained that his device OS has crashed. I inspected his device and found that Soon after the

main screen the device halted to error 523.

I rebooted the device twice, but to no avail. I then tried to format the device using JL_Commander.

Atlast I had to reinstall the OS using the device software. The device was working quite fine without the SIM. As soon as the

user inserted the SIM the OS started to tease him again. He rebooted it and the OS restarted many times before the OS

started. When he inserted the SIM and turned the radio ON. The device started to search the network, but couldn't find. Now I

had to re-install the core OS. This time we are confronted with another strange problem; the OS crashes as soon as we insert the SIM.
My colleague re-installed the core OS and without inserting the SIM; as soon as we turned the radio and wifi on. The OS crashed again. Now when we hard reboot it the device starts with JVM Error 102. I am really frustrated with this device.
I Googled for such a carcinogenic device, but no one has confronted with such a stupid problem. This could become a case study for RIM.
I am holding my forehead, waiting for Helppppppppppppppppp !

Thanks in anticipation.

I would suggest getting a SIM swap from your carrier, or just try another SIM in the device.

I have tried another SIM from the same operator.
The same SIM is working fine on the other BB Device.
Since the device is operator locked so we can't insert the SIM of any other operator.
The worst issue is that the OS is corrupting even without the insertion of the SIM; i.e. as soon as the Radio or Wi-fi is turned on, the OS gets corrupted.
So there is no issue with the SIM.

Sorry, I didn't say try a SIM from another device from the same operator, or try a SIM from another operator, or try your SIM in another BB device.

Go to your carrier and get a SIM (new) swap for the same SIM.
I've seen this work many many times. It may not work for you, but you won't know if you don't try.

In your first post you said it was "corrupting" when the SIM was inserted.

Which is it?

But later on I did mentioned that it is doing so without even inserting SIM. As soon as I turn the Radio or Wifi on (without the SIM) the OS gives Big BANGSSSSSS !!!!!!

Ok.

How did the SIM swap from your carrier work?

My friend, the issue is not with the SIM. It is problematic even without SIM.

Well, then if you refuse to take that advice, you have one choice: Wipe the device with JLCmder and reload the OS. Don't load ANT third party applications to the device. NONE.
Watch and see how it goes for a week.

If, with the same SIM inserted, the problem yet again persists, refer to the posts above.

Dear JSander ! I have already done that. Wiped the device with JL_Commander and reloaded the operating system. The issue is same.
