I want to buy a 7100v, but use it with my Orange account. Is that possible or does the 7100v only work with vodafone?

The 7100v is locked to Vodafone. Unlocking BlackBerrys is very difficult; the only known source is to send it to Bongo Wireless in Canada, with $100USD, and they can unlock it for you.

Or you can contact Vodafone to obtain an unlocking code, however this may incur a charge.

If you buy a 7100v from Vodafone in New Zealand it is unlocked. Vodafone NZ doesn't lock ANY phones.
