I have a user with Windows 98 who was recently upgraded from Lotus Notes 4.6.7 to Lotus Notes 6.5.2. She is currently using the BlackBerry Desktop Manager 3.6.3 with a 957 Handheld with OS 2.6.1.

She is able to configure the Desktop Manager to locate the handheld (it *is* detected on COM2 in the Connection Settings dialog), however, when she attempts to synchronize, the Desktop Manager just sits there, and never recongnizes the handheld. It does not start "Working" and never complete. It just doesn't start; thus the user cannot synchronize her handheld.

Has anyone else run into this? Is there something short of upgrading this user to Windows 2000 that could be done for this user to have her Desktop Manager begin to synchronize with her handheld?

I would try upgrading the Desktop Manger to 4.0Sp1 first. See if that fixes the issue. Next I would try removing different PIM sync options to see if maybe it is just the calendar or address book causing the hang.

Also confirm the handheld is connected directly to the PC, not through a port replicator or USB to serial adapter.
