I don't think so. It refers more with the type of account you have rather than the blackberry service.

Try a hard reset and if that doesnt work, call your SP and have them resend your books. Good luck!

No problem, actually we should both thank "jdjleo", he is the forum member who posted that info. I was on the line with Cingular CS and going thru all of the pages of this thread trying to find it from last week. I found it and the plan was switched 2 minutes later.

I don't see why you wouldn't be eligible for the $34.99 plan then. If I were on my company's FAN I would think I would still be eligible, if that is what you are referring to when you say you are affiliated with a business.

Yahoo free does not allow pop3, I believe. I have a Yahoo account that is a Yahoo plus ($19.95 per annum) and it works just fine.
I think you need yahoo plus.

The Cingular rep told me that the FAN discount is only for voice now. No discount will be applied to data...

Thanks for the Soc Code. That worked right away. The only thing now is that my web browsers will not work. I pulled the battery but still nothing.

i have a question i did the upgrade...and it is working great the only thing i dont like is the extra folders because they r of no use to me because when u get a new message it doesnt signal which account it came through therefor u sort of have to play a guessing game...is there anyway to make it work so u know which folder has the mail

Please realize that this was not rolled out to every call center at the same time, but unfortunately their system bounces calls to literally every call center. So you might call in at 10:00 am and get a call center that has the latest, greatest info and then at 10:01 am, get a call center that has not gotten the data and they are getting swamped...
Not necessarily their fault, moreso a management issue on making sure that reps are updated on new promos and products as they come on-line.
Dealt with more than a few reps that don't get any info until it is in their system and they are left to figure it out...

I have had some off and on problems with the Browsers but both are working now. I am even posting this via the WAP site on my BB.

EDIT:

This is the error I got before and it just showed up again:
Unable to connect to the internet, please try again later.
If the problem persists please contact your service provider.

This is using the Blackberry Browser, The Cingular Browser is working, odd.

Anybody know what could be up?

I still can't use my bb browser. Tried resending the books but no help. Also tried the hard reset to no avail. You would think they wouldn't have these problems.

OK...
Just got off with Blackberry tech support @ Cingular- he had me go to "host Routing Table" and click "Register Now".

That fixed it immediately...BUT..he said he had to fix the problem on his end first. I asked if it was something that could get fixed without calling in and he said no.

He also said they have been slammed all day for lots of issues but this is the first call on this and the first he had heard of the new plan being available. He knew of the plan but had not heard it was available. Admitedly, he is in tech. support, not sales so he is not as close to plan info.

So get calling if your browser is not working.

Ask specifically for Blackberry tech support, do not waste your time with the basic CS.

Good Luck!

Hope it works out for you. Apparently when they switched the plan it knocked something else out of whack.

The guy told me they were all trained on BIS 2.0 and told of the $29.99 plan coming but did not know when. I spoke to him about BIS 2.0 and I see no benefit to me as I use the Gmail instant forward setup and pop to outlook. Until there is a way to synch all that up I am happy with 1.8.

Good luck!

you can also use the tech support chat from forums.cingular.com to resolve the issue.
