Default Battery life is low.

Please Login to Remove!

I just got a 7130 and noticed that the battery only lasts a little over a day.
Operating conditions:
1. Turned down backlight screen to 0 (lowest).
2. No Bluetooth, disabled.
3. Turned on from 6am until midnight. Wireless always on: minimum one bar signal strength anywhere.
4. Only 5 min of phone calls per day.
5. Use web browers 10 min per day.
6. No email hookup.
7. Use PDA functions 20 min total per day.

Is this typical?
Does the web browser use power even when not downloading pages?
Any other power conservation suggestions?

Thanks.

make sure you condition the battery over the next few days. Fully cycle the battery at least three times.

Are you in a low signal area? That will increase the drain on a battery.

That sounds pretty crappy to me. You should get 2 days+ per full charge on a new battery. The downside is that your cellular carrier will probably balk at replacing the battery because it does work for one day at a time.

Cycling the battery: Should I drain it all the way down as part of the 3 times cycling?

On a regular basis, is it better to "top off" the battery by always charging it, or let it drain down before charging?
