Default "USB Charging Current is Not sufficient" message

When I plug my BB into the USB port I get that message and "verify that your handheld is connected to a powered usb charging source and the proper drivers are installed. I have been using this port for months and never had a problem - why is this happening???

Do you have Desktop manager installed?

Have you changed any of your port settings, or installed any new software lately?

Is the port on a USB hub? I had that issue when using a hub.

Same here, had a problem using a non-powered hub. Moved it over to a powered hub and it worked fine after the switch.

Do you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed?
If so, have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling it?

reinstall DM or point to the drivers where the .sys .inf file are for the BB and that should solve it

Smile Found a soultion on my 8800

I had a 8700 with desktop 4.2 - when I received my 8800 on Cingular 5/2007 - I used their software. I did not realized that it was 4.1. They probably packed it up a year ago! I just uninstalled their 4.1 and rein. 4.2 and the issue went away. One has to wonder about the products we receive. I sure it was new but when was it made and just held off the market for a good release date.

So this fixed it for me.

should be the power savings setting on the USB port:
go to control panel=>System=>Hardware=>Device Manager: click on Universal Serial Bus Controllers => and in all USB Root Hub => right click => Properties => Power Management and uncheck => allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.....
