Can anyone else view wmv email attachments?? I would think by now with recent updates/upgrades, this would be possible. Apparently not... Is it a media player fault or what?? I've received a couple wmv files lately attached to bb email and while I can download them to the media card, the bb media player will not play them. I get the red box "error playing" and the white box "An error has occurred attempting to play media". Both files will open and play on my PC with no problems. I have tried to tweak everything I could find on the bb and the desk top mgr., to no avail. Any suggestions??
Thanks.

WMV stands for Windows Media Video and was developed by Microsoft specifically for internet streaming. . . on a PC, you can also view WMV files from a hard drive or other media. It should be noted that in order to play a WMV file you will need to have a codec. A codec is software that can easily read a file format and create video images and audio from the data provided. Since Microsoft developed the WMV file, you're able to view WMV files from your PC.

For the BlackBerry Curve, document shows that WMV is supported with OS 4.3 or better, but only from the Browser and not viewable natively if attached to email or saved on media card.

Check-out following for video file conversion:

What would allow native viewing; a better media player and/or a better OS??
