Default O.S. 4.1 seems sluggish on 7100t

Please Login to Remove!

I installed 4.1 on my 7100t and it seems sluggish compared to previous versions. As with a computer, new operating systems usually need more power and memory to run effectively. I think that it's the same case here. I'll roll my scroll wheel up or down, and it will take a second or two recognize what i just did, and then respond. This may not be an issue for some people, but it bothers me like crazy. I will concede that there are certain things that I like about 4.1, such as the default theme (you can see more of the backround picture) and it seemed like I had better speaker volume.

I just reinstalled 4.0 and I can literally fly through the menus. It moves so much faster. Now, unless somebody knows some performance mods for hardware (memory upgrade, processor upgrade, overclocking? "Am I crazy??" maybe..) then I think I'm going to stick with 4.0.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry7100/4.0.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1)

I did an update about 3 weeks ago and my 7100t is also slower now with everything I do. I also get a mem error so I have to pull the battery every 2 days now. Is there any way to remove stuff like the pics that come on the bb. That may free up something.

Ditto on the sluggishness of a 7100t with 4.1. I find myself pressing send twice all the time. I'm hoping that TMOB comes out with its 4.1 version before I get the 8700 version which TMOB is coming out with.

Any ideas on when TMOB will come out with their 4.1 version for the 7100t? I'm hoping it will be faster than the HK 4.1 I'm using now. Seems like they have been pushing Desktop Manager Software (4.0.1.12) & Handheld Software Version (4.0.2.49) for quite a while.

Oveclocking blackberys. Were would you put the fans?or the feezer? How would you disperse that much heat? Plus you would have to tweak dumwarsettings if you did memory upgrades ect.

I cant say that I have noticed the sluggishness on my 7100t. Memory seems a little more used but havent run into an problem.

Thumbs down

My 7100-T is noticeably slower too. Also, my Bluetooth headset has much more trouble staying connected to the Blackberry.

Is this inherent in the 4.1 upgrade, or is it just a good excuse for me to upgrade my headset??

I would love to overclock my blackberry. You don't always need fans for cooling. There is room for some small vent holes.

I think 4.0.2 and anything newer is slower than the previous versions. Not really complaining since the features seem to be nice and working better but dang it is slower.
