Default help before I buy

Please Login to Remove!

I am one tiny step away from purchasing my first BB. Only ONE question: I have more than 3000 contacts in Outlook. My current mobile phone only allows 500. WILL I BE ABLE TO IMPORT ALL MY 3000+ CONTACTS into my BB Pearl? Thanks so much!!

Blackberry pearl has 64MB of total memory of which you may have around 24MB free around OS installation, calendar, task, memos..etc. Theoretically each contact with minimal information takes up about 150 bytes.. so you can have 167772 contacts (one hundred sixty-seven thousand seven hundred seventy-two).

I have met a person who has more than 8000 contacts in his Blackberry curve.. both the devices (curve and pearl) have same memory availability. So the answer to your question is YES.

Bear in mind, though that you will have less free memory for 3rd party apps and will likely need to purge you old e-mails fairly regualrly.

3000 contacts would max take up around 450KB space.. so obviously he cannot be careless about memory

No, I've not considered the Storm. I know it has more space, but the track ball and the keypad sound faster to me than the touch screen. Can anyone who has tried BOTH give me their input?
