On my blackberry 8700v google maps and Opera 4 has stopped working. It worked great before but now Opera just keeps on saying installing when I load it and Google maps starts but loads no data.

I downloaded a newer version of the device operating system to see if that would help (its on 4.5.99 now) and although I did all the usual stiff (deleting vendor file) it does not prompt me to install. Just wondering if its all connected somehow.

I have tried un-installing the problem applications and re-installing them and I have done a battery pull and restored the phone to an earlier date but nothing works

Go back to OS 4.2. That should fix it.

Thanks for the suggestion but I managed to sort it.

I wiped the blackberry using JL_Cmder and reinstalled it. That's fixed Opera and Google maps but I now seem to have operating system 4.5.55 instead of 4.5.0.99 that I had before ???
