When AT&T makes the software for the Red Pearl available will current (Black/Grey) Pearl users be able to upgrade to the at&t branded software, and the new at&t theme. Also with this software, will it replace the Cingular orange start-up graphics, and if not, is there a way to replace those, with new ones?

If there is a new OS that has an AT&T theme, then yes, that can be used on the original Cingular Pearl. However, the Cingular splash screen is hard-coded into the device and will remain.

Ick. I would've liked it if there was more red--that white racing stripe down the middle has got to go. :(

Just exchanged my 15 day old Cingular "Black" one for a red today.

Bloodberry ... freakin' awesome!!! Feels a little heavier too, can't quite explain it. Hooray for AT&T branding.

can you really expect less though. The 8100 is geared for the younger consumers out there. And they love them some colors. Not their pearl matches their iPod. I think it's heideous personally, but that's only my opinion.
Now when 88xx and 83xx start coming out in turquoise, then i'm outta here.

agree with ArkiTekt... Ferrari Red would have ruled!

this red looks like some old rusted pipeline.

I too think an all-chrome-berry would be pretty sweet!

When you see it in person, it's almost like a very dark candy apple crimson. It's a deep color that has a lot of visual impact as different sources of light hits it ... just my opinion though

Had to return my first one today, Delete and Return keys would activate themselves if I just ran my finger over the button w/o pushing in. 2nd one works perfectly.

BB user for little over 2 weeks now ... doubt I could go back.

Red is sexy I think. I didn't even know they had that colour. I wonder if they'll come out with a pink blackberry for support for breast cancer like the V3.

i got the red one yesterday. It looks really good and has more of a personal look to it. The black on is more about business. It is kind of the difference between a thinkpad and a macbook. Definately is the dark crimson and not rust. I really shouldnt be talking about any of this because i am colorblind though so...

I think that cheesey faceplates are finally a thing of the past. I like the fact that the pearl is coming out in different colors like the razr. I wonder what color is next? Sprint's Bumble Bee Yellow perhaps. I would love to have a one in Tmo Magenta.

If they made a pink one, I could get my girlfriend to get one.
