Default Hiding Icons Permanently

Please Login to Remove!

OK, my BlackBerry has all the Icons for things I never use (and will never use). I try hiding them, but every time my BB is reset, they show up again. So I tried creating a folder to hide them in, and ever time my BB is reset, that folder is deleted an all the Icons show up again.

Is there any way to get "hide" or a folder to not be reset when my BB is reset?

And no,

Today this happened twice for me when I installed the latest Google Maps. A reset was required to complete the install and all the Icons came back. After again hiding them all, I went into Google Maps, did some configuration, after which another rest was required, and all the icons came back again!

This is an 8830 on the Bell Mobility network (through a BES) if that matters.

Usually when a person pulls the battery to reset, for example, the icons stay hidden.
Being that you are on a BES, id say thats why what your experiencing is happening.

So, any suggestions on how to get my BES server to not reset this? Is there a way to backup the "desktop" to the BES server?

Create a folder, move the icons into that folder, then hide the folder. Works for my 8820 running 4.5

The OP knows how to hide things, the issue is that they unhide themselves when the BB is reset (like after a battery pull). This is due to being on a BES.
