heyy guyz...hope u guyz could help me in solving this Problem:

Ok see...i bought a BB bold 9000 from United Arab Emirates (UAE)..and i got a used one..the mobile works in UAE but when i go for vacation to Pakistan..it shows the full signal and shows GSM but im unable to make or receive any calls..only wireless helps me to browse internet... Jus to add i insert the local sim of Pakistan which is known as UFONE Carrier . The same sim works in my other mobile(nokia and samsung) and works in my freinds BB Bold 9000 too..but doesnt work in ma BB bold 9000. It only works for me when im in UAE. Ive shown dese problem to many mobile shops and they are jus cluelsss :S

What could be the reason guys?? ive tried many sims but doesnt work in Pakistan :S and all other sims works in my freinds BB in Pakistan. And ye it works for me only in UAE :S

putting another SIM in your BB ? is the device unlocked? or is UFONE a sister company to your original company?

well ive tried many local sims of pakistan and it shows da same thing..like i can see the signals and GSM on top..and weneve i make calls it sayzz "call failed" cant even send SMS neither cant receive any incoming calls ...and all those sims works in other mobiles even da same mobile BB 9000 which belongs to ma frd...buh i dunno whts wrong wid ma handset...and UFONE is one of the Provider in Pakistan. In UAE we have 2 Provider known as Etisalet and DU both were workin in UAE on the Handset..but ones m here in Pakistan so bascially i need to get a new sims and the provider in pakistan are..UFONE , MOBILINK, TELENOR, WARID and few mores...but none of dem works in my BB 9000 :S... and ye its nt abt unlocking problem..coz da mobile is unlocked..and ive tried thrice to unlock it which successfully was done..but den same old prob :(

Don't ever take an expensive phone like blackberry to ANY mobile shop in pakistan.I have never seen SUCH illiterate and pure DUMB people ever anywhere else.They think they are experts but reality is they don't even know how to open a blackberry.My friend showed his bb to a mobile repairer in Pakistan and he coud not even open it

About your problem.My guess is a MEP lock but you said it's unlocked.So I will tell you to search around for it and then do something about it.

You said the device was used, correct? That is more than likely the problem.

I would go to Axiom Telecom and get a new 9700. It's a much better device, and Axiom has good prices.

The Device works very well in UAE but not it doesnt work in Pakistan...and its unlocked.

That's irrelevant. You bought a used device, so being unlocked does not mean it will work. Go buy a new one. Seriously. It WILL work in the UAE and PK, and you will be much happier.
