I still cannot see the original message. However, Premier America C.U. allows members to access via wireless devices.

Good question, why would banking not be safe?

Wells Fargo said go away. I said this device is secure enough for my security-maniac company and also the US Govt! They said go away. But a Palm applet they support. Go figure.

Why not Chuck [Schwab]? I have an account there for trading and such....Works great... It's been "built in" since my first BB with AT&T [5810] and currently with my 7100g.

I access the Washington Mutual website banking on my BB. It's not pretty, but I can check my balance and move stuff around.

I just change the browser to IE emulation for any websites that give me trouble. Once again, they're sometimes ugly, but workable.

I do it all the time with Toronto Dominion Bank and CS-COOP Alterna Bank. No big deal.

Even Toronto Dominion Bank has a WAP Cellphone Banking website, purpose built for cellphones... ( http://www.td.com/w ) .... Make sure you set emulation to "WAP Only" rather than "WAP and HTML". Online trading by WAP too. They also have a MiniHTML version of the web banking too, but at a longer URL. (Search "MiniHTML" using the Search link at the top)

I can even access the full HTML web banking site for TD, but only through my BES system. (Though BIS 4.1 probably works too, if you enable JavaScript)

In fact, I occasionally do "Just In Time" banking through my BlackBerry in a grocery checkout lineups or ATM lineups, when I don't have enough money in one of my debit accounts, and need to transfer the money between two accounts. Poof. I now have enough money on my ATM card, mere seconds before I type my PIN into the pad.

Pretty mudane stuff, really.

The security is reported to be often MUCH better through a wireless device than at an ATM machine. (Surprise, surprise!)

Smaller screen, harder for people to watch, encryption, harder to have hidden cameras to spy on you, harder to spy on your magnetic stripe, easier to conceal your typing, etc.

There has been no precedent about thieves successfully bothering to snoop and and encrypting 128-bit wireless data with cellphone spying equipment. It's 100% digital and unlistenable by consumer scanners. (You'd need NSA type dedicated equipment, and even NSA would find it easier to steal your debit card info at an ATM, or get the bank to reveal information to them)

It's not rocket science. Banking on cellphone is MUCH safer than banking at an ATM machine.

Wells Fargo banking works on BlackBerry -- make sure you are on a BES, and you have JavaScript enabled. It is very slow.

I've gotten on via Chase's bankone site via my BB. But I think that site is only for former BankOne customers.

Thought I'd pass along that US Bank works great on my 7100g. Check accounts, transfer funds, pay bills, etc.
