Thanks for the tip. I'm downloading the latest desktop software now. The blackberry site is painfully slow.

Thanks for replying.

What's happening to me is the 'sendas' permissions under AD U&C | advance | <user properties> | security - keeps disapearing for 'besadmin'!!!!

Even after using dsacls, stopping bb router for 20min, and editing the exch cache registry setting....

This is happening on 3:7 units

This is a documented feature, you need to ensure that your BESADMIN user is NOT a domain admin. Or change the AdminSDHolder object (not recommeneded). See MS KB912918

Do these user objects have permission inheritance blocked?

Just went through this exact same issue. We had just moved from a mixed 2000/2003 AD domain to a full 2003 domain 2 weeks prior. After talking with Microsoft and cleaning up some really old AD (my NT AD server was still alive!!) its finally working. Microsoft had us check this setting: AD (make sure view>advance settings is checked), System, AdminSDHolder (right-click properties), Security Tab, Advanced, Send As has been checked. Past that, make sure that you really give the BES Router 20 minutes of downtime; while in this downtime, push out an AD update across all your servers. Then start up the router again.

Before this, we had tried all of the BB and MS KB articles on the issue and searched BBF far and wide. Hope this helps.

... If that is the case, and you are manually stamping send as on this user oject and it is disappearing then adminsdholder or some other policy is taking it off.

With the radio turned off and the USB cable/Device Manager installed I get the exact same problem and error message.

Try deleting the Desktop [CMIME] service book and then pushing in the trackwheel and undeleting it. ... i still think send as permissions.

I agree it does look like send as permissions when i look at all the resources that mention the problem, but I have set them correctly and double checked, tripple checked and got someone else to check to ensure i'm not going mad!

Still no joy. I'll try deleting the CMIME service book. Is there a way to re-create it rather than undelete it?

I have stopped the BB router again for 20min, while re-adding 'besadmin' under adv security with 'send0-as' & 'receive-as' permissions.

Let's see what happens again...

Also, I ran the dsacls cmd to modify the adminsdholder the other day too.

Theres got to be a simple fix for this.

You can resend service books through the BES Manager

Thanks hdawg. I've deleted the CMIME service book from one of the devices, resent it via BES and then tried re-sending a message. Got the same error "Desktop Email Program unable to submit message".

I have to admit this is starting to get on my nerves now!

I am very annoyed too!

At his point, the entry under AD Adv Security for the 'besadmin' user is GONE again!

I have stopped the BB Router and re-added this entry several times while waiting 20min each time.

What should I do now????

A google search of that error 0x80070005 seems to refer to many different types of issues, all having to do with permissions. Very strange, I agree it has got to be a simple fix and hope you find it soon!

remove the user from any priv'd groups so the permissions dont keep disappearing ... or stop whatever in AD is taking the permission

Is that MS SBS server or BES is on stand alone windows server?
Is Blackberry Service account ( "Besadmin" ) domain admin? If so, remove it.
Does BESAdmin acc. has Send As permission on user's mailbox? (Under security Tab)
