Default SNMP For monitoring BES

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,
I am having problems getting SNMP monitoring to work. We are using HP Openview to capture the SNMP traps but currently Openview is not seeing/receiving any data from the BES server. I am relatively new to SNMP. The SNMP service is running on the BES server itself and is configured. Is there something within BES that I need to configure or is it setup within the OS?

Thanks for any help...

You have a MIB for the BES server to interpret it with? We use something similar and works fine for us.

We have the BlackberryServer.mib located on the program files\Research in Motion\Blackberry Enterprise Server directory on the server. HP Openview is looking for the object identifier but it's not receiving any information from the BES server at all. I was doing some digging and noticed that for the Mobile Data Service logging - UDP logging is not running. Does UDP Logging need to be turned on and configured with BES ? How can I ensure information is getting to the mib file?

Did you compile the MIB for HPOV? The MIB should be imported to the monitoring system so that it can understand what traps are being sent. The Blackberryserver.mib is a Ver 2 MIB, does your HPOV support MIB v2?

No - Our Openview Administrator wrote 3 polices with HPOV which are watching for 3 specific OIDs. I did notice that UDP monitoring within the BES server software was not turned on so I turned it on.
