Please Login to Remove!

As the title says, I'm trying to figure out what kind of 9700 I need to use 3G network both here with a T-mobile SIM and in Italy with my Wind SIM..
Any help?
I know that I need a t-mobile 9700 to use their network, but will an unlocked t-mo 9700 work on my italian Wind 3G network???

any help is appreciated...

tnx

t-mobile US's 3g frequencies are 2100/1700
at&t (and rogers etc) is 1900/850

so, an unlocked t-mobile US may work. im not 100% on the way it works, but as its 2100 and your network is 2100 then i believe it will

Thanks

I'm a little confused, because I found several reviews of the T-MOBILE 9700 indicating that the GSM-UMTS frequencies are only 850/900/1800/1900, so no 2100.. (like in this review: T-Mobile BlackBerry Bold 9700 Review | PocketBerry or in this RIM BlackBerry Bold 9700 (T-Mobile) Smartphone reviews - CNET Reviews)

While in other reviews they indicate that it supports 2100 also....

The t-mobile 3G is 2100, the other carriers, use 1900.
There are two models, which it does NOT seem clear in those articles.

From the specs of 9700 on RIM's website:

(2G) GSM: 1900/1800/900/850 MHz all models have this
(3G [UMTS]) t-mobile's: 2100/1700/900 MHz
at&t/rogers/bell etc: 2100/1900/850/800

For Wind's 3G (you said 2100/900) you WILL need the T-mobile one.
