Like someone mentioned. TMO 3G isn't that great.

Keep in mind 3G coverage is seperate from EDGE/GPRS/GSM coverage.

If you had a TMO 3G phone before, and are having problems now, then there might be an issue with the phone.

If you had coverage before with your EDGE phone, you'll still have EDGE coverage with the 9700 for sure (unless you got a dud) doesn't mean your 3G coverage will be identical to EDGE.

Also maybe someone can chime in on this. I've havent had a 3G TMO phone yet, so i'm on a SIM i've been using since 2005. Are all TMO sims 3G capable? I find it weird, considering TMO is still using 32K sims. Maybe that might be the 3G issue some of you are having?

There is also a data outage for some carriers. Don't know if TMO is affected or not since I don't use it, but that could be part of the problem.

I also had to call TMO Tech Support (Smartphone Tier 2) and they ended up making some edits to the settings on my account. After that, my visual voicemail and the web finally started working fine. I also re-enabled the apn setting with epc.tmobile.com. Everything seems to work fine now, but it does seem more spotty than usual. Hopefully it was as simple as a network outage. Those are fixed easily. Faulty firmware would trouble me more.

I am a trooper when it comes to this type stuff. The phone has practically got to blow up in my hands for me to take it back. I realize there are glitches with new products and because I always choose to be one of the first to have it, I accept that everything might not line up correctly. Around day 13 I recheck. Plus, there is no issue I have ever had with a BB that you kind folks on this forum haven't been able to help me resolve. So, once I buy, its mine to keep! (until the next model comes out)
