Default 9700: Rogers vs Bell vs Telus

Please Login to Remove!

My contract with Rogers expires very soon and I will be getting a 9700 to replace my first generation Pearl. Should I continue with Rogers or move to another provider? Which one is better all round?

Thanks

Personally, I would go with the Carrier that gives me the best plan, and of course the Carrier with the best coverage. I just switched from Telus to Rogers last summer when the new iPhone 3GS came out, and Rogers coverage is so much better than Telus's.

Not sure what their (Telus/Bell) new network is like, but I do know Rogers is good here on Vancouver Island... much better that with Telus/Bell.

Coverage, coverage, coverage.
Coverage where you live, coverage where you work, coverage where you travel to.

That's ALL that matters.

Default It's all about coverage

I have been on Rogers for the last few years and had a Bold 9000. My company uses Bell and they have been after me for years to change as my Rogers bill was pretty high. I fought it and finally said when I can get the lates BB, I would consider swtiching.

I went to Montreal last week and they had a 9700 on the new Bell network waiting for me.

I was very skeptical, new network and all.

A week later....I am actually really impressed with the new Bell network. Really, really impressed.

It is much faster than the Rogers one and I am getting about 30 - 40 % more battery life. (I had a new battery in the 9000).

For where I have used it to date, mostly Mississauga and in Montreal, coverage has been excellent. I had one dropped call on the highway in Montreal, none so far in Toronto.

You're 100% right. A friend recently asked me which provider had a better network. I told him it was subjective, our corp head office has excellent Bell coverage as there is a mini-tower in the building, but crap Rogers service.

Especially in Ontario . . . where the coverage is spotty.

Besides, All the carriers in Canada will stick it to you so it's really a question of whose yacht you are supporting!!!
