Unhappy Curve 9300 dropped in the bath

Please Login to Remove!

I dropped my blackberry curve 9300 in the bath today and I took it out imediatly but it was fully submerged. I took out the battery and sim and dryed them with a dry towel, very well and put them back in. I tryed it and the screen was fine but the keyboard and trackpad were weird. The trackpad did not respond untill i pressed it numerous times and the keyboard buttons typed in othe letters instead of their own and some didn't work at all. After that I took the battery and sim out straight away and they remain out now.

I want to know if my blackberry is dead or if it will work again or if I can save it, please?

You likely killed it when you put the battery back in so soon.
I would have let it dry out for a few days before powering it back up.

As penguin 3017 said it may be fried. Try putting it in a bag of new rice for a week or so. The rice may dry it out, then cross your fingers.

I dropped my curve in the bath last week, and didnt believe the rice thing would work, but it did.
I immediatly stripped as much out of the phone as possible, dried it and then put everything in bowl of rice for two days and it all works fine, albeit with a rattle from a grain of rice in my phone lol

I would place it in a bag with the rice it will absorb better. Not sure the bowl is as effective.

I have this Blackberry® 8520 smartphone (EDGE,Wi-Fi) v4.6.1.290 (platform 4.2.0 124). The problem is i can't open facebook application what i have been downloaded a lot of times. It says: YOU ARE CURRENTLY ON A SERVICE PLAN THAT DOES NOT SUPPORT THIS APPLICATION. IF YOU WANT TO USE THIS APPLICATION,PLEASE CONTACT YOUR SERVICE PROVIDER TO UPGRADE YOUR DATA PLAN.

How was that? What am i supposed to do? I can't even access my account in BBapps. What version to use?

It's bad form to hijack a post.
The error message your receiving is telling you what you need. A Blackberry Data plan. You have a plan that does not allow internet , BBM or maps access that uses the internet. You also do not get direct email.
