I've been typing a lot in portrait because it only requires 1 hand.

I find it very difficult to type with 1 hand...

Its like theres an imaginary line down the middle that i cant cross with my thumbs otherwise i press the wrong key. Maybe its just my fingers.

I know exactly what you mean! In portrait mode I have no problems using one hand though.

That is because it is very true. As discussed in other threads, the keyboards are already calibrated so that the left side is for your left thumb's angle and the right side is for your right thumb's angle.

I'm faster in landscape with the full QWERTY keyboard, but I also type with SureType a lot because it only requires one hand.

When I need a quick reply driving, etc. I use SureType but it sometimes change my words and i have to retype in landscape to make sure it came out the way i want it without changing those little words like Bro to Boo! OMG! My bestfriend wife swears I did it on purpose!

I'm glad you live 1500 miles from me. Typing while driving is really hazardous. In many states it is illegal (Westchester County NY has a $400 fine for doing so). Pull over. Life is too short. You will probably kill some innocent person while escaping yourself.

Yeah, I didn't get the idea at first. I was correcting after each letter. Of course that was ridiculous. Now I use Suretype for most typing, but switch to horizontal if I am typing a proper name or website that isn't in my address book.

Okay! Thanks for looking out for me but there is no fine here for texting just yet. I'm a professional texting machine. I've been texting for a few years now, and by being in the largest city in the United States of America land-wise, getting from one side of town to the other may take a hour without any traffic, it's no way I can wait that long to respond to a text message. But thanks for the concern.

I prefer to use both thumbs and the full qwerty board, so I type faster in horizontal. Getting better at the typing though not as fast as when I used the Curve.

Landscape mode is my way to go! That's how I'm typing this right now!

I just wish that they'd get rid of all of the kinks that this device has....

I dislike sure-type. I type in landscape 99.9% of the time.
