Hi all,

Let me first say thanku in advance to any answers.

I am new to BES admin so bear with me.

We are migrating from BES 4 to 5.

The server chaps want to build a BES 5 test server which is valid for 60 days and let me migrate the users, then remove the license from BES 4 and make the take the BES 5 demo server and make it a fully licensed one.

My questions are is this a sensible approach?

Firstly we have the time restriction of 60 days.

Secondly im not sure if the BES 5 demo has a user limit and if so can we migrate the licenses from our current BES as we go, would that work on a demo version?

Lastly can anyone else think of any other complications?

I am doing the migration as well (see my post "http://www.blackberryforums.com/bes-admin-corner/241418-bes-upgrade-4-1-6-5-0-2-a-2.html" ) but what I am doing in a nutshell is tested the migration in test environment and it works. Basically upgrade using the cutover to new hardware using the Existing Database. This way should things go wrong, I can always go back to the Old server and bring that Online.

This is what I think is the best way.

the demo version has a limit on users, call T support to get one that has more or get a migration kit.
