Default Bold locked my car doors

Please Login to Remove!

I was typing a message as I was getting out of my car. (2008 Saturn Vue) I shut the car door with the keys inside since I was in the garage. After I shut the car door I pushed send to send the message and my horn honked, lights blinked and doors locked. My Bold locked me out of my car. Ever heard of this happening?

I was making the breakfast the other day, stopped respond to a message on my Storm, turned around and the dog had eaten the bacon.

Anyone ever had THAT happen? Tell me it was not just coincidence.

Happens to me all the time, except it's my 4 year old son, not the dog!

The dog thought "eat it before it eats me"! Self-preservation. EZ might make up a story that the Bold locked his car but not me. I'm a Southern Belle who always tells the truth even if it hurts.

Wirelessly posted

I had the door lock thing happen to me in my old car. Its pretty much the same thing that happens when you get a text next to the tv or radio and it starts making noise. Just radio interferance

I need to remind you that (unless you are a transplant to the Bluegrass state from the true south) Kentucky was not a part of the South until it was too late to claim credit. But I digress...

But, yes, I believe your Bold locked your car doors. I don't know all the techical gigahertz of the radio waves of the two devices, but it is entirely possbible the two got their waves crossed.

I, for one, don't believe it. Not saying you're lying, I believe something made them lock, but I don't think it was the phone. Keyless entry radios send a unique code to the car to trigger the lock/unlock, otherwise theives would just broadcast through the range of spectra in order to unlock car doors. Some keyless entry systems auto-lock the doors after 10-15 seconds automagically - source - is it possible your new car has this feature and you didn't notice 'till now?

Found another link related to your car -

Yep, you're north of the moss line.

Damn bad war strategy. Move the capitol of the nation from the deep south to a 100 miles from from the federal capitol.

Born in the hollers of Tennessee and attended one room schoolhouse. (tells my age). Moved to Alabama in my childhood so I think that qualifies me as a Southern Belle.

Keys and remote were in the car. Nothing else in my hands. Everyone is welcome to believe or disbelieve. Thanks for the info on the car research.

I believe you
The radio frequency of the door locks is in the 300 megahertz area and the key fob sends an encrypted digital code to unlock the doors or other functions such as setting the alarm. The frequency of a standard cell phone is not even close. The reason the car is reacting is probably related to the receiver in the car being either off frequency and xxx8220;listeningxxx8221; to any spurious data close enough to trigger the locks or not properly grounded and again allowing stray frequency to affect the operation. Either would require a repair or replacement of the control unit. Keep in mind if your cell phone triggers the locks , someone elsexxx8217;s can also.

Thank you for providing a plausable answer admittedly to my somewhat hard to believe issue.

I'm a Southern belle, too, and your post reminds me of an Urban Legend email someone sent me recently. Maybe it was the "Code Grabber" that locked your car doors.
